John and Johan Hoj Rural Reconnect Scholarship – University of South Australia

Four young country women have been awarded a UniSA scholarship to help cover their costs of moving to the city and settling down to their first year of university studies. The John and Johan Høj Rural Reconnect scholarships, valued at 00 each, were established via a personal gift from Professor Peter Høj, Vice Chancellor and President of University of South Australia in honour of Professor Høj’s father and grandfather who lived in rural Denmark and did not get the opportunity to educate themselves to express their full potential. The scholarships have been designed to reduce the financial barriers country students face when they are leave home to pursue their higher education ambitions. All four recipients received a final Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank of 99 or higher, which is a great testament to their abilities and their desire to succeed.
